Fantasy Football ADP: Market Update (Week of July 5)

 

Each week in this space, we’ll look at how fantasy football ADP has changed across real money drafts over the past week. The goal is to learn how drafters playing for cash prizes are reacting to news, injuries, and more to build their teams. Finally, at the bottom of the article, we will pull out the takeaways we think are important to understand from these moves.

Notes:

• Mark Ingram is gaining steam with concerns over an Alvin Kamara suspension growing. Evan Silva and Mike Leone debated Ingram’s value on a recent ETR podcast episode.
• For the second straight week on Underdog, RB ADP is increasing and WR ADP is decreasing. In particular, Treylon Burks was the biggest ADP dropper inside the Top 100. He’s down to WR42 in ADP but still at WR37 in ETR’s rankings, making him one of our favorite high-upside players to target in that portion of the draft.
• Every week since we’ve debuted this article, CLE passing-game ADP has dropped over Deshaun Watson suspension concerns. This week is no different, and most of the downside potential is now baked into the costs of Amari Cooper and David Bell, making them solid values that you may or may not want to pair with a gamble on Watson himself at the end of drafts.
• Nico Collins is starting to see a little bit of love from the market as a late-round WR, and we recently bumped him in the ETR ranks as well, staying roughly in line with where his new ADP is at.
• Josh Jacobs had the biggest skill-player rise in ADP inside the Top 100 on FFPC. We liked him as a value in the sixth round, but he’s now firmly in the RB dead zone at a price we’d rather avoid.
• Patrick Mahomes‘s ADP has fallen again. His gradual descent in overall ADP makes him the most draftable that he’s been in years. There’s room for a QB detour in most draft rooms starting at the end of Round 4/beginning of Round 5.
• Russell Gage‘s ADP is on the rise while Chris Godwin‘s continues to fall, amidst concerns over his injury. If you can construct a roster where Godwin isn’t too necessary over the first month of the season, we believe he has league-winning upside at a more than appropriate cost currently.
