ETR is hiring a data engineer to help build/optimize our processes for automating, storing, and using data.
We have a strong preference for someone familiar with our brand that uses our products, but it is not required. You must have at least some interest in fantasy sports and/or sports betting for this to be an appropriate fit. This role will report to our Director of Analytics and work with our Data Science and other teams.
Job Information/Requirements:
Candidates should have skills/expertise in the following areas:
1. Managing automated processes on cloud-based infrastructure (preferably AWS). Examples of specific responsibilities:
- Building automated procedures/jobs/scripts from scratch
- Maintaining/improving existing automated processes
- Monitoring/debugging errors
- Identifying the most time/cost-efficient way to run a given job
- Identifying the best way to store a given piece of data
2. Experience coding in Python and R (preferably a more experienced coder)
3. Experience scraping data and retrieving data from APIs
4. Experience building simple apps for internal use (preferred but not required)
5. Familiarity with ETR, Sports, Fantasy Sports, and/or Sports Betting
6. Self-motivated
7. Able to work both individually and with a team
Compensation: TBD based on a candidate’s skills and experience
Location: Fully remote
Hours: We would prefer a full-time role but are open to other arrangements for the right candidate.
- Working hours are generally flexible (i.e., does not have to be a rigid 9am-5pm).
- This role occasionally requires availability if/when urgent issues arise (e.g., something breaks on a Sunday morning before NFL kickoff).
