The biggest question for fantasy football going into draft day: Who will draft Ashton Jeanty? We didn’t have to wait long to find out the answer, as the Raiders took the Boise State product with the sixth overall pick. Let’s dig into what Jeanty’s outlook is this year and how this pick affects other players on the Raiders’ offense.
ASHTON JEANTY
- Jeanty is the crown jewel of the 2025 draft class from a fantasy standpoint, an elite talent who only slipped past the draft’s first few picks due to the devaluation of running backs in the modern game. A compact 5-foot-9, 211-pound tackle-breaking machine, Jeanty totaled 2,601 (!) rushing yards across 14 games for Boise State last year to go along with 29 scores on the ground. He finished second in Heisman Trophy voting behind Travis Hunter. Jeanty was an all-district wide receiver in high school and had 43 catches for 569 yards as a sophomore in college (just 138 receiving yards last year). Daniel Jeremiah notes that he has reliable hands and can make defenders miss in space after the catch, but he said his route-running could use some improving. Still, he’s a capable receiver, and his tackle-breaking ability as a runner is already all-world. This draft capital despite playing a devalued position speaks volumes about his ability, and he’s a no-doubt RB1 in fantasy drafts this summer.
