Fantasy basketball is so different from football. In football, the markets are so efficient and generally you’re not going to see too many guys off where the market is. However, fantasy basketball just doesn’t have an army of dedicated people driving the market in a specific direction — and it’s usually a good direction.
The Draft Kit has Sleepers and Undervalued, Deep Sleepers, and the Shy Away 30, but I thought I’d want to outline briefly some of the guys I’m going to have ahead of ADP early in the draft. Here’s some quick reasoning why I think these guys deserve your pick early in drafts. Of course, check out the Top 150 to see where they stack up. These are with eight- and nine-category leagues in mind.
Damian Lillard — Even with the trade rumors, it’s so hard to fade Dame. He rarely misses games, and two years in a row he’s shown he can be a strong assist guy. Lillard actually got a little unlucky in dimes with his potential assists increasing, but his dimes dipping by 0.5 per game. The Blazers’ offense was also the league’s best in the second half last season, and Dame is coming off a career-high 30.6 usage rate. The Blazers should be able to compete for a top-six spot and that should be enough to keep Dame’s eyes on the prize.
