First off, I wanted to say a very heartfelt thank you to all who reached out with their support last week with Hurricane Milton. Being a Floridian for just five years now, it was the first time our family had to evacuate with a storm and, with the priority of keeping our little guy as safe as possible, it was a whirlwind of a week getting us all surrounded by family. Thankfully our neighborhood escaped with minor damages and, although a new roof is needed, we were incredibly fortunate compared to many others who lost so much. I felt at a loss not being on my normal content schedule for our team here at ETR, but even catching up through Discord was a great way to get my mind off the fear of what was to happen back home. So, a long-winded way of saying I appreciate you all, and with the plentiful screenshots that flooded in Sunday night, congrats to all who crushed it at the Black Desert!

Without an official piece and just AMA notes, we won’t review any tips from last week and we can proceed right into the Shriners Children’s Open. The fall swing has been a tasty one with our projections being on fire, and this mix of a weak field with golfers we still have substantial data on has been the perfect combination for high-upside GPP lineups. It seems in this case that recent form may not be as relevant, and I always like to zoom out on the chart when trying to make selections that will be quite low-owned. Tom Kim seeks out a three peat here, but still priced at just $10,800, it makes lineup construction flow away from the $6Ks, which continues to be appetizing for the way I like to build for large-field tournaments. TPC Summerlin has not typically rewarded distance and has seen short-game specialists have a lot of success, so that means there is likely to be a lot of chaos at the top. Now, let’s roll the dice in Vegas!

Ben Silverman, $7,400 – After yo-yoing his career between the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry, Ben Silverman has seemingly found his footing on the big stage in 2024. The Canadian has racked up seven top 25s in 23 starts and earned his best finish of the year with a T4 at the Procore Championship. Silverman was someone we targeted frequently in this piece in the early parts of the season, as he had proven to be one of the more accurate golfers on Tour and could pair it with hot irons. That continued to be true, as he had his top results at courses that were less driver-heavy, but what was the most surprising was how much his putter turned around and now he has gained strokes on the green in nine of his last 10 starts. Now all Silverman is waiting for is a week when all three combine and he can push himself right into the thick of contention this week.
