Passing Game Overview
After tearing his right ACL and meniscus last Week 14, Kyler Murray is fully expected to miss the start of the season. There’s a good chance he opens 2023 on reserve/PUP, which would at least sideline Murray for the first four games. 37-year-old (in September) career backup Colt McCoy projects as Arizona’s starting quarterback for Opening Day and beyond. Especially after they cut DeAndre Hopkins, this figures to be among the league’s worst offenses with a near-complete unknown in rookie OC Drew Petzing calling plays. Murray’s dual threat has offered dynamic scoring ability in the past, although his run production could be compromised by the devastating injury, and his schematic fit is entirely TBD.
