Jalen Hurts exceeded even Establish The Run’s lofty expectations by finishing as 2022’s overall QB1 in fantasy points per game while continuing to show marked improvement as a passer. Among QBs with at least 175 throws, only Tua Tagovailoa and Patrick Mahomes averaged more yards per attempt. Hurts was especially effective deep, banking a 109.8 passer rating and 10:2 TD-to-INT ratio on attempts 20-plus yards downfield. Only Mahomes drew more MVP votes. Yet what cements Hurts at QB2 overall in my 2023 rankings is his rushing output. He’s topped 750 rushing yards in consecutive years while mastering the art of the goal-line “Tush Push” play, translating to 23 rushing scores over the past two seasons.
