New England @ Buffalo

Team Totals: Patriots 20.5, Bills 29

September’s QB4 in points per game, Drake Maye is a divisional-upset-on-the-road away from continuing his sophomore ascension. Buffalo’s aging defense (for all their flaws) has hounded QBs on 47% (second) of dropbacks, holding opponents to a league-low 5.4 yards per pass attempt. Zooming out, Maye’s 8.3 YPA when pressured (third) is higher than any of the signal-callers’ the Bills have faced. Lamar Jackson (6/70/1), Justin Fields (5/49/0), and Spencer Rattler (6/49/0) QBs of Maye’s ilk — also averaged 56 rushing yards and 7.6 points from the ground in this spot. … Even if you remove Buffalo’s performance (or lack thereof) against Baltimore’s high-octane run O, their front seven leaked the highest rate (20%) of 10-yard runs. Patriots RB touches in the first half of their Week 4 blowout over Carolina: TreVeyon Henderson 6, Rhamondre Stevenson 5, Antonio Gibson 4. Both Henderson and Stevenson are considered fringe RB2s merely separated by who (unpredictably) finds the end zone. For what it’s worth, Stevenson has touched the ball inside the 10 in every game.
