Week 2’s highest-totaled game, Lions-Bills will be the first ever played at newly built Highmark Stadium. … Despite his slow opener, I’m confidently standing by Jared Goff as an upside QB1 in Thursday night’s projected shootout. Goff’s Week 1 box score would’ve been far prettier if not for multiple Jameson Williams drops, while Goff looks like a shoo-in for 40+ pass attempts at Buffalo. The biggest concern for Detroit’s offense is the possible absence of both RT Blake Miller (knee) and LG Christian Mahogany (hip) on a short week, although it does sound like Miller is going to try to play. … Jahmyr Gibbs led the NFC in Week 1 rushing (156 yards) and forced a career-high 12 missed tackles (Next Gen Stats). Gibbs appeared on 100% of Detroit’s short-yardage/scoring-position plays, caught all five of his targets, and would remain the obvious 1.01 fantasy pick if we re-drafted today. … For handcuff purposes, it’s noteworthy that Sione Vaki ran as Gibbs’ backup, while Jacob Saylors didn’t play at all in last week’s win over New Orleans. Isiah Pacheco (MCL/back, I.R.) sounds in danger of missing most of the season. A potentially overworked Gibbs injury away from becoming the Lions’ lead back, Vaki should be stashed at the end of fantasy benches.
