Minnesota @ Tampa Bay
Team Totals: Vikings 22, Bucs 20.5
As Kyler Murray was concussed 11 snaps into Week 1, and Carson Wentz started Week 2, data on Murray in HC Kevin O’Connell’s historically quarterback-friendly offense is scant. But Sunday’s matchup is ripe for the picking. Bucs HC Todd Bowles’ blitzes aren’t getting home — Tampa ranks bottom five in pressure rate (18%) despite sending five or more rushers at the league’s third-highest clip (40%) — while left-for-dead Deshaun Watson just turned in his best game since he was a Texan against this same defense. The Bucs’ inability to get pressure is not new; over its last 11 games dating back to 2025, Bowles’ defense has only 15 sacks. O’Connell stressed before Week 1 that he is encouraging Murray to use his dual threat to keep downfield cloud coverage away from Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. I love Murray in DFS and as a QB1 streamer. … The Vikings’ running back attrition provides more reason for positivity regarding Murray’s pass and scramble rates. Jordan Mason (thumb, I.R.) is out until Week 6. Irresponsibly overworked to the tune of 23 carries in last week’s Chicago downpour, 32-year-old (in December) Aaron Jones predictably sustained a knee injury and may not play. That would whittle the Vikings’ backfield down to fifth-team journeyman DeeJay Dallas and diminutive sixth-round rookie Demond Claiborne. Despite their inexperience together, I expect O’Connell to build his Week 3 game plan on Kyler’s back.
