I’ve been covering NFL awards markets for ETR since 2020, and this is the first time I’ve thought that a race is over heading into Week 4.
I’m going to provide two value options with a path to victory, along with some notes for each awards market.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Dillon Thieneman (+2000 to +4000 BetMGM)
Dolphins linebacker Jacob Rodriguez is +400 in this market behind 28 tackles and one interception for a Dolphins team that looks historically bad. Bears safety Thieneman has 23 tackles and an interception for a Chicago team that will be seen by a national audience at least six more times this season, yet you can get him at the outrageous price of +4000 on BetMGM.
It’s still very early in the season, but from what I’ve seen so far, I’ll be surprised if Thieneman isn’t a DROY finalist.
