Chicago @ Green Bay
Team Totals: Bears 24, Packers 21
Quarterbacked again by Tyson Bagent, the Bears visit Lambeau Field as a favorite for the first time in two decades. (I took the Packers +3.) Bagent was a mostly efficient executor of Ben Johnson’s offense in Week 4’s win over the Jets, albeit in a pristine environment and perfect Soldier Field weather while escaping with two would-be interceptions negated by flags. And the Bears surely won’t be running 87 offensive plays again like they did last Sunday. Expect Johnson to focus heavily on the running game to lower Bagent’s exposure to risk. Bagent is a low-end fantasy QB2. … D’Andre Swift got stuffed repeatedly at the goal line, blew a blitz pickup to get Bagent sacked, and lost a third-quarter fumble against the Jets. He didn’t play a snap after the loose ball. Kyle Monangai suffered a late-game thumb injury, and the Bears signed Swift to a three-year, $34 million extension on Sept. 12. I’m betting on a bounce-back week for Swift as the possible focal point of Johnson’s Week 5 game plan against a Packers defense that was allowing the most fantasy points in the league to running backs before losing top LB Edgerrin Cooper to a torn Achilles last week. Assuming Monangai gets medically cleared to play, he will likewise be RB2-starter worthy.
