Snake drafts remain the most popular form of fantasy football, but auction is a fantastic alternative for those who want a more strategic distribution of players for their leagues. Our auction values succinctly summarize how much we think each player is worth, but we still have our favorites within each price point. Today, we’ll identify 23 cheap players ($1 or $2 in our auction values) we think have legitimate upside.

Khalil Herbert (RB, Chicago) – Herbert rested alongside the rest of the Bears’ starters in preseason Week 2, while D’Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson both played. Chicago’s backfield is the most fruitful for fantasy purposes, but Herbert is the clear RB1 entering the season.

Jaylen Warren (RB, Pittsburgh) – Warren was significantly more efficient than Najee Harris as both a runner and receiver in 2022 and started playing passing downs ahead of Harris late last season. His recent 63-yard rushing TD in preseason Week 2 only added fuel to the fire that the former UDFA needs more work.

Skyy Moore (WR, Kansas City) – Moore was a darling of the fantasy community last summer before Andy Reid eased him into the NFL. Now in Year 2, he’s in line to be Patrick Mahomes‘ starting slot receiver.

Dalton Kincaid (TE, Buffalo) – The track record for rookie TEs isn’t great, but most rookie tight ends aren’t WR/TE hybrids catching passes from Josh Allen. The first-rounder has been drawing rave reviews at camp and could just be the Bills’ starting slot WR.

Zay Jones (WR, Jacksonville) – Last year’s PPR WR24 can be had at a WR5 price tag. While his target share will fall with Calvin Ridley in town, Jones can still post flex numbers as the WR3 and has massive contingent upside if something happens to Ridley or Christian Kirk.
