Saturday Football
4:30 PM ET Game
Cleveland @ Houston
Team Totals: Browns 23.5, Texans 21
Joe Flacco enters Wild Card Weekend leading the NFL in passing yards per game (323.2) while ranking No. 2 in passing TDs (13) since making his first start for Cleveland in Week 13. Flacco gets back No. 1 WR Amari Cooper (heel) — who hasn’t played since Dec. 24 — against a pass-funnel Texans defense beneath Houston’s NRG Stadium dome. Houston’s top three EDGE rushers Will Anderson (ankle), Jonathan Greenard (ankle), and Jerry Hughes (ankle) all missed practice early this week. All three seem likely to play, albeit short of 100%. In a favorable environment with his weapons intact, Flacco is fully playable on DFS tournament slates. … Jerome Ford logged fewer than half of Cleveland’s offensive snaps in each of the Browns’ last three games yet out-touched Kareem Hunt 35 to 20 in that span. Houston held enemy backs to 3.3 yards per carry in 2023, including a combined 27/58/2 (2.1 YPC) rushing line to the Browns when Cleveland visited the Texans in Week 16. I’m projecting Ford for 14-16 touches and Hunt for 7-9.
Flacco’s 2023 target distribution: David Njoku 45; Cooper 42; Elijah Moore 31; Cedric Tillman 24; Ford 18; Harrison Bryant 10; David Bell 9; Hunt 8.
