Welcome to the 10th edition of GPP Leverage for the 2020-2021 NBA season. This article is going to be a catch-all space for my GPP thoughts. In most of the articles I’ll address some of the relevant GPP plays for that day’s slate, but some of the articles will be more focused on plays and others more focused on strategy. Today’s Leverage will focus on strategy, as a few situations that took place this week caught my eye. The first is the surprise mid-day injury upgrade/downgrade and the second is the Brooklyn Nets’ approach to the second end of a back-to-back once they rested James Harden. Both situations brought about opportunity in tournaments IF you could correctly guess at how the information in front of you would play out. These are scenarios that projections will have a hard time leading you in the right direction, so crafting a thought process and approach to give yourself room to interpret the situation correctly is a necessity.
