The Chargers placed Nos. 1 and 2 TEs Charlie Kolar (forearm) and David Njoku (knee) on I.R. this week. Also sieve-ish on defense, the 0-2 Bolts have suffered two-score losses to the Cardinals and Raiders. Fantasy’s QB24 two games in, despite those seemingly favorable matchups, Herbert has given us no reason to start him outside of two-quarterback leagues beyond a hope and a prayer. … Whereas old Bills HC Sean McDermott essentially encouraged opponents to run on Buffalo by playing the league’s highest percentage of dime defense, the Bills are emphasizing run stoppage under new DC Jim Leonhard. They held Texans and Lions RBs to a combined 46/161/2 (3.5 YPC) rushing line in Weeks 1-2. Sunday’s matchup is difficult, Omarion Hampton lost a fumble in each of the Chargers’ first two games, and Keaton Mitchell may soon be in line for a role increase. Hampton has regressed into a risky RB2.
