N.Y. Giants @ Detroit
Team Totals: Lions 30.5, Giants 20
Cleared from his concussion, Jaxson Dart will make his first start under interim HC Mike Kafka with Darius Slayton (hamstring) on his way back beneath Ford Field’s dome. The Lions appear likely to miss top CB Terrion Arnold (concussion) and FS Kerby Joseph (knee), while SS Brian Branch (toe) is banged up. Although the Giants have encouraged Dart to be more cautious as a runner — he’s entered the concussion protocol four times — Dart will have to play with urgency for the Giants to compete here as 10.5-point road dogs. New York’s starter in Weeks 4-10, Dart was fantasy’s overall QB1 in that time period. I’m going right back to Dart as a confident play here. … In Kafka’s first game as coach, Tyrone Tracy Jr. just barely out-snapped Devin Singletary, 37 to 35, and out-touched Singletary 23 to 17. Especially frustratingly, Singletary punched in scores from five and two yards out. I had been hopeful Tracy would emerge as the Giants’ feature back in the post-Brian Daboll era. Instead, Tracy is a low-end RB2/flex option against an unforgiving Lions defensive front.
