N.Y. Giants @ Houston
Team Totals: Texans 26.5, Giants 16
J.J. McCarthy’s thrilling Week 6 fourth-quarter performance notwithstanding, this is an eruption spot for Houston’s ultra-talented D/ST as a 10.5-point home favorite. The Texans rank third in the NFL in sacks (18), while the Giants have allowed the league’s sixth-most sacks (18). McCarthy holds a career 12:13 TD-to-INT ratio with six fumbles in 10 starts. He’s more likely than not to be a piñata for DeMeco Ryans’ defense. … Even after Najee Harris’ release, the Giants’ backfield remains a mess. Fumble-prone Cam Skattebo didn’t touch the ball in Week 6. Devin Singletary has eight combined touches since Week 1. Tyrone Tracy Jr. brought needed juice to New York’s backfield with 45 yards and two TDs on eight touches in last week’s loss to New Orleans but was barely heard from previously. OC Matt Nagy has shown a weekly willingness to deploy three to four different backs on game day. The Texans have surrendered the NFL’s 10th-fewest fantasy points to running backs.
