Thursday Night Football

Seattle @ Dallas

Team Totals: Cowboys 28, Seahawks 18

Their passing game disassembled by San Francisco’s overwhelming defensive front on Thanksgiving, the Seahawks next visit white-hot Dallas at risk of similar results. The Cowboys have won 13 straight games at home, this year by prolific scoring margins of 35 (WAS), 32 (NYG), 23 (LAR), 35 (NE), and 20 (NYJ). With 16 fantasy points or fewer in eight of his last nine starts, Geno Smith doesn’t belong in any fantasy starting lineups. He also appeared hampered by elbow and ankle injuries against the 49ers. … Kenneth Walker (oblique) looks likely to miss another game after Zach Charbonnet controlled Week 12 Seattle backfield work en route to 18 touches on a career-high 88% playing-time clip. Charbonnet’s Thursday night matchup doesn’t stick out positively on paper, but his workload projection does, highlighted by a dominant passing-game role. I’m valuing Charbonnet as a fringe RB1/2 play, assuming Walker sits.

Geno’s 2023 target distribution: DK Metcalf 79; Tyler Lockett 77; Jaxon Smith-Njigba 52; Charbonnet 27; Walker 23; Noah Fant 22; Colby Parkinson 20; Jake Bobo 17; Will Dissly 12. … Metcalf’s route-running limitations tend to show up when defenses assign him man coverage, which the Niners did on Turkey Day. 49ers CB Charvarius Ward shadowed Metcalf, holding him to 32 scoreless yards on nine targets. This year’s Cowboys have limited enemy wideouts to the NFL’s fourth-fewest fantasy points. I’m viewing Metcalf as a boom-bust WR2/3 here.
