We had a couple games get postponed already today, but it’s still a really strong slate with eight games. We’re also still waiting on some trades to go through, and James Harden has already passed his physical. Plus, one of the league’s best guards could be back after missing the last eight games.

Ja Morant (ankle) is questionable for this one. He was expected to miss 3-5 weeks, so playing today would have him about a half week ahead of even the optimistic end of that timeline. If he goes, that’ll really cut into the usage for basically the entire rotation. Tyus Jones would move to the bench and see a huge hit, and Jones moving to the bench would also affect Grayson Allen, De’Anthony Melton and Desmond Bane. Plus, the Grizzlies may go back to a smaller lineup to put Kyle Anderson at the four.
There’s a chance the Cavs could get Jarrett Allen in their second unit today. Andre Drummond is Probable from an Achilles issue that kept him out of a back-to-back game, so he should be good to go. If Allen can go, that’ll likely drop Drummond from the low 30s to upper 20s while Allen fits around 20 minutes in his Cavs debut. If he’s out, JaVale will back up Drum.
