Even I’ll admit it. I’m getting tired of PGA DFS this fall season, mostly because DraftKings refuses to give us even one big-money lotto contest outside of the Baycurrent in Japan. Even though that tournament filled every contest, DK loves to act like the NFL totally destroys every other DFS sport. It makes me sad, honestly, because we are seeing some crazy ownership swings during the fall season as we compete against the dredges of the Golf DFS landscape. I have still yet to decide whether or not I will play this week (other than the contributor contest), but I’ll still deliver an article that my son can be proud of when he grows up and reads his dad’s work on Establish The Run dot com. Let’s go.

Mexico Open – Recap

While I didn’t play the lotto because of the $20K-to-first prize, I still wanted to look at the ownership flip to see the biggest moves of the week. One of the more interesting things was that Wyndham Clark actually came down in ownership, as he ceded ownership to guys like Johnny Keefer and Blades Brown in the $9K range. Ben James held his ownership in the $10K range, despite coming off a brutal missed cut the week before. It’s clear: The 2026 fall season is being heavily influenced by young players with high potential who the field wants to “be early” on. That strategy, for the most part, has not been successful for them. It’s something to watch out for as we enter the final three events of the season.

WWT Championship – Preview

It feels like just yesterday that I flag-planted a low-owned Russell Henley at the WWT, where he went on to win the whole thing, which kicked off a really great year of flag plants for me. Some would say my flag-plant performance has suffered since then, but I would point them to my success in PGA DFS so far before they ridicule me. The WWT has been a long-standing event on the PGA Tour in the fall season where players travel to Mexico to compete. For years, the event was held at Mayakoba until the traitors from LIV Golf stole that course and put it on their schedule.

Now, the tournament is being held at the Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal, which has proven to be a somewhat… boring course over the years. Here are the last three winners here at El Cardonal:

  • 2025: Ben Griffin (-29) def. Chad Ramey and Sami Valimaki by two strokes
  • 2024: Austin Eckroat (-24) def. Justin Lower and Carson Young by one stroke
  • 2023: Erik van Rooyen (-27) def. Matt Kuchar and Camilo Villegas by two strokes
