Las Vegas @ L.A. Chargers
Team Totals: Chargers 25, Raiders 15.5
Slowed in recent games by his injury-broken offensive line’s utter inability to protect, I’m nevertheless optimistic we’ll see the best of Justin Herbert here. Jim Harbaugh and OC Greg Roman had Week 12’s bye to get things figured out, the remaining offensive linemen used the off week to heal up, and the Raiders can’t rush the passer anyway, ranking bottom six in sacks (20) and bottom 10 in pressure rate (19%). His loaded weapons corps fully intact, this is a Herbert eruption spot. … I’m expecting at least one more week of Kimani Vidal as the Bolts’ lead runner with Omarion Hampton (ankle) slowly on his way back. Roman was noncommittal when asked about Hampton’s upon-return workload when quizzed early this week, while Hampton turned in limited practices. Vidal has undoubtedly earned equity with the coaching staff for his superb pass blocking, critical considering the state of the Bolts’ O-Line. I’m valuing Vidal as an upside RB2 and putting Hampton on a wait-and-see week.
