Preseason Top Plays: August 23

Preseason DFS is a different beast. Unlike the regular season, our main job is to identify players who will get the most playing time. Of course, that’s easier said than done. Our team spends an unhealthy amount of time researching to compile the Depth Chart Notes and Top Plays (below). For showdown slates, please consult Cody Main’s article. 

TIER 1

Jalen Milroe, Seattle – Milroe should be an awesome fantasy asset given what he brings to the table with his legs. Though he hasn’t consistently put it on display, we trust that, given enough opportunities, he’ll separate from the pack as an above-average per-snap producer who should also have more playing-time upside than Drew Lock, even if the team intends to split snaps evenly. 

Titans D/ST – Often by Week 2 of the preseason, we’ve had skill-position groups thinned out enough that defenses are no longer slam-dunk Tier 1 plays. While we do have some thin rooms Sunday night, none offer as much safety as either defense does. The Titans are expected to play their starters roughly 20-25 snaps in Week 2 — though recent reporting suggests it could be lower. That means Tennessee’s 1s will likely square off at least briefly versus Milroe.

Seahawks D/ST – The Titans’ starters have struggled in the preseason, so I’m not sure 20-25 snaps should strike fear in an opposing defense, but it’s still not ideal. Once Cam Ward and the 1s exit, they’ll face plenty of turnover-prone Will Levis and Hendon Hooker.
