The FedEx Cup fall heads to Mexico this week for the VidantaWorld Mexico Open at Vidanta Vallarta, the fifth time the course has hosted the event since it joined the PGA Tour in 2022. It is the first fall playing here, after the first two editions were held in late April and the last two in February. It is a 120-man field playing for a $6 million purse and 500 FedEx Cup points, and Wyndham Clark is the only member of the world’s top 25 in attendance. The legend, Brian Campbell, defends after winning in a playoff at -20.
The Course:
Vidanta Vallarta is a Greg Norman design that opened in 2016 along the Ameca River outside Puerto Vallarta. It plays as a par 71 at 7,337 yards this year, about 100 yards shorter than in 2025, with paspalum on the fairways and greens. The course has five par 3s, nine par 4s, and four par 5s. Norman’s firm reworked the course last fall and changed the routing, so this year’s card won’t match last year’s hole numbers. Three of the four par 5s are now on the front nine: the 548-yard third, the 637-yard sixth, and the 585-yard eighth, with the 603-yard 12th the only one on the back. The finish is new, too, with a 235-yard par-3 17th set up as a stadium hole and a 455-yard par-4 18th where the tee shot has to find a landing area between two lakes.
