Denver @ Carolina
Team Totals: Broncos 23.5, Panthers 21
Denver carries major matchup advantages on both sides of the ball in this contest. But 1:00 p.m. ET games involving western teams traveling east can be wonky, and the Broncos have been one of the NFL’s most fortunate teams, going 5-0 in one-score games. I didn’t bet this one. … Aside from Week 7’s box score fueled by a sea-parting 62-yard touchdown run that isn’t predictive of the future, Bo Nix’s best weekly fantasy finish this season is QB14. Once a productive runner, Nix has rushed for 10 yards or fewer in seven of eight games. The Panthers switched defensive gears after Week 8, firing DC Ejiro Evero and internally promoting Todd Wash to replace him. There’s no way to say what impact the change will make, if any. I just don’t see Nix as a quality fantasy option outside of two-quarterback leagues. … RJ Harvey (knee) will miss at least the next three games on I.R. Jonah Coleman took control of Denver’s backfield in Week 8’s win over Kansas City, out-touching J.K. Dobbins 15 to 7. In the second half, Coleman played 90% of the offensive snaps and was the only Broncos running back to touch the ball. His trajectory continues to scream upward as an ascending RB2. The Panthers have surrendered the NFL’s second-most fantasy points to RBs.
