I’ll be betting Browns unders, teeing up opposing D/STs, and fading all Cleveland skill players until owner Jimmy Haslam removes his criminal fingerprints from the quarterback position. I’m still optimistic Deshaun Watson will be benched in time for Week 3’s home opener. Last week, Watson was sacked on five of 27 dropbacks, hit eight times by the Jaguars, and averaged a pathetically indecisive 3.4 seconds to throw. At one point, Watson appeared to take a seven-step drop on a shotgun snap. To call him a deer in headlights would be kind. … The Browns gained over half of their Week 1 yards in the fourth quarter with the game out of hand, making it difficult to put any stock into Denzel Boston’s late touchdown. … Perhaps still hampered by 2025’s ankle/fibula fracture, Quinshon Judkins struggled mightily in the Browns’ opener and is averaging 3.0 yards per carry since Week 5 of last year. Also a non-factor in the passing game, Judkins has reached the point of next-to-no hope. … Harold Fannin Jr. and KC Concepcion are bench fodder until further notice.
