Arizona @ L.A. Chargers
Team Totals: Chargers 28.5, Cardinals 19
The newfangled Cardinals under rookie HC Mike LaFleur open their season against a Chargers defense that returns most of 2025’s personnel but is coordinated by 34-year-old unproven wild card Chris O’Leary, who replaces now-Ravens HC Jesse Minter. Jacoby Brissett is a seventh-team, 11th-year journeyman, but his starting job is safe temporarily after Arizona gave him a $10.6 million raise in July, then listed Gardner Minshew ahead of Hall of Fame Game star Carson Beck as Brissett’s top backup on their post-camp depth chart. Job secure and equipped with plus weaponry, Brissett is an underrated two-QB-league play in Week 1. … Jeremiyah Love suffered a preseason high ankle sprain, then checked in behind Tyler Allgeier on Arizona’s Week 1 depth chart. Love’s uncertain health and likely initial committee-back role render him a low-floor flex gamble on Opening Day.
