Monday Night Football

L.A. Chargers @ Arizona

Team Totals: Chargers 23, Cardinals 21

With LT Rashawn Slater and RT Joe Alt back in Week 6, the Chargers returned from their bye with Justin Herbert’s most raw pass attempts (34) and first 200-yard performance in 2024 despite leading 20-0 at the half. Assuming the Cardinals continue struggling to generate pressure (28%, 28th) on Monday night, note Herbert’s 8.5 yards per attempt from a clean pocket (seventh) through an ankle injury to date. He’s a strong Superflex option wherever he was dropped. … The Cardinals placed run-stopping DT Bilal Nichols (6-foot-4/306) on I.R. (stinger) after he played nearly 50% of Arizona’s Weeks 1-6 defensive snaps, boosting J.K. Dobbins’ on-paper matchup. With Gus Edwards eliminated from the team’s offense and ultimately placed on I.R. (ankle), Dobbins has handled 85.7%, 73.9%, and 77.1% of the Chargers’ backfield touches as an every-down workhorse over his last three games. Explosive sixth-round rookie Kimani Vidal (5-foot-8/213) scored a 38-yard TD on a wheel route on his first NFL touch but, in replacing Edwards, only compiled six touches (17.1%) in his debut. He remains a top-tier stash behind Dobbins, who projects for 20+ opportunities on Monday night.
