Missing elite LT Laremy Tunsil (torn triceps) in a hostile road environment, the deck is stacked against Jayden Daniels facing an Eagles defense that last year allowed the NFL’s lowest completion rate (56.8%), fifth-fewest yards per pass attempt (6.4), and an NFC-low 75.4 passer rating under DC Vic Fangio. I expect Daniels to resume being a dynamic playmaker and fantasy asset this season but am pessimistic about him in Week 1. … The Commanders are expected to deploy an RBBC featuring Jacory Croskey-Merritt and passing-down specialist Rachaad White with rookie Kaytron Allen third in line. All told, rushing success for Washington is unlikely against gap-controlling Eagles DTs Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis with tackle-vacuum LBs Jihaad Campbell and Zack Baun behind them. I’d take White if forced to bet on a Commanders running back’s fantasy output this week.
