Dog-walked by opposing QBs for 18.6 points per game, Pittsburgh had enough and shuffled Jalen Ramsey to safety in Week 9. They’ve since permitted 6.2 yards per attempt (eighth) and the league’s fourth-lowest rate of explosive passes, only getting beaten by Josh Allen (9.8 rushing points) and Lamar Jackson (10.3) from the ground. Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t present that problem (as a thin streamer), rushing for 42 yards all year. … One of only five RBs averaging 20 points weekly, De’Von Achane is expected to play after exiting with a rib injury (and 100 yards from scrimmage) in 23 minutes against New York; HC Mike McDaniel said Achane was actually “available to come back in the game” and it was the former’s choice “not to put him in.” Even with shoring up their secondary since November, the Steelers could gift an overall RB1 finish to Achane given their 28th-ranked EPA/run. Jaylen Wright is clearly his handcuff (and a single-game punt if his teammate were limited) upon out-touching Ollie Gordon II 21-5 once Achane went down.
