Miami vs. Kansas City (Frankfurt, Germany)

Team Totals: Dolphins 26.5, Chiefs 24.5

Chiefs-Fins sports Week 9’s highest total at 51 points. … Playing with the flu in frigid weather, Patrick Mahomes’ 59.1 passer rating last week in Denver was second worst of his career. Kansas City turned the ball over three times and went 0-for-3 in the red zone in the first half alone. DC Vic Fangio’s Dolphins defense has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. In this probable shootout, Mahomes remains a shoo-in top-five QB1 play. … With the Chiefs chasing points last week, Isiah Pacheco rushed a season-low eight times and turned four targets into -3 yards. Miami is a middling run defense, checking in at 16th in fantasy points allowed to running backs while surrendering 4.1 yards per carry and the NFL’s fewest catches per game (2.9) to the position. In a friendly game environment, I’m standing by Pacheco as a rock-solid RB2 with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) ruled out. … Jerick McKinnon has rushed just 11 times for 21 empty yards this year while seeing three targets or fewer in seven of eight games.

Mahomes’ 2023 targets: Travis Kelce 68; Rashee Rice 36; Pacheco and Kadarius Toney 27; Skyy Moore 25; Noah Gray and Marquez Valdes-Scantling 21; McKinnon and Justin Watson 20; CEH 7; Justyn Ross 6; Mecole Hardman 5. … Further removed from knee and ankle woes, Kelce played a year-high 85% of Week 8’s offensive snaps and is averaging 9.7 targets per game. Miami has allowed the NFL’s fourth-most catches (46) and sixth-most yards (460) to tight ends.
