Thursday Night Football

Carolina @ Green Bay

Team Totals: Packers 25.5, Panthers 22

Albeit coming off his season-worst game, Bryce Young enters TNF having cleared 280 yards in five of six starts as fantasy’s QB7 in per-game scoring. His Week 7 struggles can be traced to pass rush; Young took five sacks and was pressured on 50% of his dropbacks by the Bucs. Worsening matters, RT Taylor Moton fractured his fibula, while LG Damien Lewis suffered a knee injury that cost him early-week practice time. The good news is Young is used to playing under duress, Moton’s backup is a first-round pick in Monroe Freeling, Green Bay’s defense is middle of the road in pressure rate (21.4%, 16th), and Panthers-Packers is Week 8’s second-highest-totaled game. I’m not backing off Young as a QB1. … Week 7 Panthers box-score results should be all but dismissed from a forward-thinking standpoint due to the lopsided 43-13 loss. Carolina pulled starters in the second half. Every-down back Chuba Hubbard maintains exciting RB1/2 valuation facing a Packers defense permitting the NFL’s seventh-most fantasy running back points per game. Already without LB Edgerrin Cooper (Achilles) for the year, Green Bay appears likely to miss LB Zaire Franklin (shin), DL Devonte Wyatt (ankle), and DL Anthony Campbell (ankle), too.
