Las Vegas @ Carolina
Team Totals: Raiders 25.25, Panthers 22.25
Among cutdown weekend’s biggest fantasy winners, Josh Jacobs’ target projection improved when the Raiders released Theo Riddick and traded Lynn Bowden to Miami. Jacobs deserves to be one of Week 1’s top DFS plays against a Carolina run defense that ranked dead last in Football Outsiders’ DVOA in 2019, then lost MLB Luke Kuechly (retirement), DE Mario Addison (Bills), DT Gerald McCoy (Cowboys), NT Dontari Poe (Cowboys), LB Bruce Irvin (Seahawks), LB Andre Smith (Bills), and leading tackler SS Eric Reid, then replaced them with a bunch of rookies. The Raiders return 5-of-5 offensive line starters after finishing No. 6 in Football Outsiders’ run-blocking metrics. Jacobs scored all seven of his rookie-year TDs in wins, and his total yards per game spiked from 86.7 in losses to 118.2 in victories.
