Seattle @ Baltimore

Team Totals: Ravens 24.5, Seahawks 18.5

Geno Smith faces his toughest to-date test in Week 9 at Baltimore. Likely to draw head-coaching interest this offseason, Ravens DC Mike Macdonald’s unit has yielded a league-low 4.6 yards per pass attempt while leading the NFL in sacks (31). No defense has permitted fewer fantasy points to quarterbacks. It’s a week to bench Geno and hunt for QB1 streamers. … Limited by a calf injury ahead of Week 8, Kenneth Walker handled season lows in snaps (41%) and touches (9) against the Browns. Meantime, second-round rookie Zach Charbonnet overtook DeeJay Dallas as Seattle’s passing-down and 2-minute back en route to a year-high 59% snap rate while turning seven touches into 64 yards. The Ravens have played middling run defense — permitting 4.33 yards per carry and 125.4 total yards per game to enemy running backs — rendering Walker an RB2 play and Charbonnet an iffy flex option. The good news is Walker is off Week 9’s injury report. Walker should resume controlling early-down and scoring-position carries here.

Geno’s 2023 target distribution: Tyler Lockett 48; DK Metcalf 45; Jaxon Smith-Njigba 34; Walker 18; Colby Parkinson 17; Noah Fant 15; Jake Bobo 12; Charbonnet 11. … An efficiency machine lately, Lockett secured 18 of 22 targets (82%) for 213 yards (9.7 YPT) and a touchdown over the Seahawks’ last three games. Baltimore has given up the NFL’s fifth-most catches (111) to wide receivers.
