Passing Game Outlook
It was a tale of two halves for Trevor Lawrence, completing 58.7% (38th) of his passes for 6.2 yards per attempt (30th) before returning from the team’s Week 8 bye and exploding for an increased 62.5% completion rate (26th) and 7.8 YPA (seventh). Even in tacking on the sixth-most rushing points weekly (5.2), Jacksonville’s opening schedule against the Browns (last year’s No. 3 defense in EPA/dropback), Broncos (ninth), Patriots (10th), Eagles (11th), and Texans (first) before its Week 7 bye hinders Lawrence’s upside. I expect him to be dropped or, at the very least, become easily acquirable in 1-QB leagues during that time off. If you do draft him, note that Jaxson Dart, Kyler Murray, and Malik Willis – all of whom can be tacked on as a second QB from the middle rounds or later — are projected to face the three easiest schedules of opposing pass defenses through Week 8.
