It’s fantasy playoff time. If you’re lucky enough to have made your league’s playoffs, you’re likely wondering what steps you can take to put your team over the top. Today, we’ll go position by position and highlight a few players (and archetypes of players) worth picking up in anticipation of the fantasy postseason.

DEFENSE

We’ll go one week at a time on defenses so you know which teams to target in which week.

WEEK 16
1. NYJ (vs. WAS) – One of the best defenses in the league vs. arguably the most sack-prone offense in the league.
2. KC (vs. LV) – Steve Spagnolo‘s group remains underrated and faces a Day 3 rookie QB in Aidan O’Connell in Week 16.
3. DEN (vs. NE) – An improving Broncos unit against Bailey Zappe.
4. BUF (@ LAC) – A Bills defense that’s getting healthier vs. Easton Stick.
5. GB (@ CAR) – The Panthers’ offense is (how do we put this lightly?) not the best.
6. WAS (@ NYJ) – The Commanders’ defense is a disaster, but even they should be able to have some success against this NYJ offense.
7. PHI (vs. NYG) – The Philly defense has been bad lately, but at home vs. DeVito is still a good spot.

WEEK 17
1. CLE (vs. NYJ) – Perhaps the NFL’s best defense against Zach Wilson.
2. DEN (vs. LAC) – This Broncos defense has been on fire lately and gets the unproven Stick during fantasy championship weekend.
3. NYJ (@ CLE) – A great defense against Flacco/DTR in Cleveland in winter.
4. BUF (vs. NE) – Zappe in cold, potentially snowy Buffalo seems like an ideal spot for fantasy goodness.
5. JAX (vs. CAR) – The Jaguars’ defense has struggled lately, but it’s hard to go wrong fading the Panthers.
6. HOU (vs. TEN) – This is the same play as streaming Houston in Week 16, but this time they’re in front of the home crowd.
7. LAR (@ NYG) – If the Giants are starting DeVito, any defense is a good start against them.
8. SEA (vs. PIT) – The Seahawks have some playmakers on defense and face an offense that has sputtered all year regardless of who is under center.
