Monday Night Football Doubleheader
N.Y. Jets @ Miami
Team Totals: Jets 21, Dolphins 23.5
The Bucs blitzed Tyrod Taylor on 55% of his dropbacks in Week 3, and he failed to counter with 4.2 yards per attempt and three sacks; perhaps that story ends differently with Justin Fields, who has completed six of 11 passes for 9.0 YPA against the blitz. We’ll find out Monday night, as Miami leads the league in sending extra pass rushers (41.1%), but when failing to reach the QB on those plays, they’ve allowed 20 of 26 throws to be completed — hence their zero takeaways and league-high 97 points ceded. Daniel Jones, Drake Maye, and Josh Allen collectively averaged 8.7 rushing points versus Miami, slotting Fields as a fringe QB1. … The Jets went down 23-6 in the third quarter against the Bucs, and only then did Braelon Allen compile five of his eight touches; Breece Hall out-touched him 8-3 for a 73% share to that point. Miami’s 54.7 per-game receiving yards allowed to RBs (third most) keeps Hall elevated as an RB2 for out-targeting Allen 13-3.
