San Francisco @ L.A. Rams
Team Totals: 49ers 22, Rams 20.5
Jimmy Garoppolo enters Week 8 with top-10 QB1 scores in three straight weeks but at risk of missing Nos. 1 and 3 WRs Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and Jauan Jennings (hamstring) against a Rams defense yielding the NFL’s seventh-fewest fantasy quarterback points. In what projects as a low-scoring contest, I’m only teeing up Jimmy G in two-QB/Superflex formats. … Samuel’s injury could fast-track Christian McCaffrey’s ascension to San Francisco’s premier playmaking role after McCaffrey logged a lowly 29% snap rate in last week’s Niners debut but efficiently turned 10 touches into 62 yards against the Chiefs. Nothing about CMC’s Week 8 matchup stands out, rendering him a bet-on-talent RB2 play with obvious RB1 upside. … Arguably McCaffrey’s biggest box-score obstacle is Jeff Wilson, who’s more than earned a meaningful weekly role by averaging 5.5 yards per carry and 10.3 yards per reception over his past six games. Elijah Mitchell (MCL, I.R.) sounds unlikely to return until Week 10, after San Francisco’s Week 9 bye. I’m still projecting Wilson for single-digit touches at L.A., rendering him a low-floor flex option.
