Fields is at 1,011 yards after Buffalo held him to 7/11/0 rushing in frigid conditions last week. When the Bears and Lions met in Week 10, Fields hung a 40-ball on Detroit with 167/2/1 as a passer and 13/147/2 on the ground. The two teams combined for 61 points, and Fields finished as the week’s top fantasy scorer. Detroit has surrendered the NFL’s most rushing yards, second-most rushing touchdowns, and most fantasy points to quarterbacks. … In Khalil Herbert’s (hip) first game back from I.R. last week, David Montgomery out-snapped Herbert 67% to 41% and held a commanding 20-to-8 edge in touches. Detroit’s run defense collapsed in Week 16 against Carolina, allowing 100-yard games to both D’Onta Foreman (21/165/1) and Chuba Hubbard (12/125/0). Montgomery looks like a rock-solid RB2 starter. Herbert is best treated as a passable RB3/flex option.
