Sunday Night Football
L.A. Chargers @ San Francisco
Team Totals: 49ers 26, Chargers 19
Just fantasy’s overall QB18 since Week 3, Justin Herbert visits San Francisco missing Nos. 1 and 2 WRs Mike Williams (ankle) and Keenan Allen (hamstring). LT Rashawn Slater (biceps) is on I.R., while RT Trey Pipkins (knee, questionable) didn’t practice all week. Against a 49ers team yielding the NFL’s ninth-fewest fantasy QB points per game, Herbert is a fringe QB1/2 option on Sunday night. … Austin Ekeler’s projection remains hot averaging 21 touches for 117.8 yards and 2.0 TDs over his last five games. As San Francisco is short DT Arik Armstead (foot/ankle), DT Javon Kinlaw (knee), and EDGE Samson Ebukam (quad/Achilles), Nick Bosa is technically the team’s lone healthy starting defensive lineman. Over the past three seasons, Ekeler has averaged nearly two more PPR points when Allen sits in a nine-game sample. Los Angeles’ lone truly bankable skill-position player, Ekeler has banked 20-plus touches in four straight contests. He is a candidate to finish as fantasy’s overall RB1 every week. … I’m stashing Isaiah Spiller in all leagues after he appeared to pass Sony Michel as the Chargers’ No. 2 back last week.
