Kansas City @ L.A. Chargers
Team Totals: Chiefs 28.5, Chargers 23.5
Fantasy’s overall QB2 behind only Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes has faced Brandon Staley’s defense three times since Staley became Chargers head coach, completing 82-of-126 passes (65%) for 905 yards (7.2 YPA), an 8:3 TD-to-INT ratio, and a rushing average of 3/25/0. In Week 11’s highest-totaled game, Mahomes is an elite QB1 starter as always. … The Chiefs seem intent on horseshoeing Isiah Pacheco into their early-down running back role with Jerick McKinnon handling passing downs. In Week 10’s victory, Pacheco banked season highs in playing time (56%) and rushing (16/82/0), and the Chiefs stuck with him after Pacheco’s first-quarter red-zone fumble against Jacksonville. Already down NT Austin Johnson (MCL, I.R.), the Chargers lost DTs Christian Covington (torn pec) and Otito Ogbonnia (quad) to I.R. last week. On the season, L.A. has hemorrhaged 5.72 yards per carry and 13 all-purpose TDs to enemy RBs. I’m willing to flex McKinnon but have written off Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who hardly plays anymore.
