Indianapolis @ Minnesota
Team Totals: Colts 20.5, Vikings 26
Colts HC Shane Steichen had no choice but to pull the plug on Anthony Richardson (completing an NFL-worst 44.4% of his passes) after the 22-year-old tapped out for rest on 3rd-and-goal while his teammates played on in the third quarter of a Divisional game. Joe Flacco previously elevated Indy’s offense to a 2-1 record but has completed just 51.6% of his passes (38th) for 4.4 yards per attempt (42nd) against the blitz, which Vikings DC Brian Flores has dialed up on 40% of snaps (second). Flacco’s squeaky clean 5:0 TD-to-INT ratio from a clean pocket is safe for Superflex leagues if Minnesota’s front seven fails to get there sans LB Blake Cashman (toe) and interior run-plug Taki Taimani (ankle). … Jonathan Taylor has handled 75 touches (to everyone else’s 7) in the only four games he’s finished this year. Previously perceived as a sealed jar, Minnesota’s run defense has leaked 15/116/2 (Jahmyr Gibbs) and 23/97 (Kyren Williams) to RB1s from the ground in back-to-back games with at least three receptions to five separate backs since Week 4. Note that Indy’s backfield target rate leaped from 9.6% (32nd) with Richardson to 16.3% (18th) from Flacco.
