On a short week after losing last Sunday night’s crucial division game to the Giants and now heading cross country to face an elite San Francisco defense coming off a mini-bye, the Commanders’ 14.5-point team total is one to evade when making lineup decisions. … After Taylor Heinicke lost a pair of Week 15 fumbles — one the G-Men returned for a touchdown inside Washington’s 5-yard line — Ron Rivera opened the door for the Commanders to “have to think about” an under-center change. The 49ers are allowing the NFL’s second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. … Coming out of Washington’s Week 14 bye, Brian Robinson out-carried Antonio Gibson 12 to 5 but was out-snapped 38 to 24 in a game the Commanders trailed much of the night. Gibson has out-targeted Robinson 20 to 6 since J.D. McKissic’s pre-Week 9 placement on I.R. With the Commanders installed as massive Week 16 road dogs, Gibson again looks likely to pace this duo in playing time. Robinson is a touchdown-or-bust flex option. The Niners are yielding the league’s fewest fantasy points to RBs but the sixth-most catches to the position.
