Monday Night Football
Philadelphia @ Los Angeles
Team Totals: Eagles 22, Chargers 19.5
The NFL once again put Kevin Patullo’s Eagles on primetime, which can only mean they don’t want us to have fun things. It doesn’t help that it’s a rough spot for Jalen Hurts on paper: The Chargers are one of only three defenses deploying zone coverage on 79% of plays, and Hurts has completed just 69% of his passes (25th) for 7.3 yards per attempt (23rd) against said scheme. Falling forward for multiple TDs (and ultimately finishing as a QB1) is always in his range of outcomes. … Saquon Barkley led the league with 32 carries of 10+ yards at this time last year. Headed into this game, he’s tied for 19th with Tony Pollard and Quinshon Judkins with 17. Monday night doesn’t appear promising, as Philadelphia has plummeted to 32nd in yards before contact per run (1.0) for 3.4 yards per carry (31st) during the 112 plays without Lane Johnson (foot) on the field. You’re never benching Barkley in managed leagues, but I question his ceiling here.
