Aaron Rodgers enters Week 7 with fantasy finishes of QB31 (@ MIN), QB13 (vs. CHI), QB13 (@ TB), QB14 (vs. NE), QB12 (vs. NYG), and QB18 (vs. NYJ). The NFL’s back-to-back MVP hasn’t been a standard one-quarterback-league starter all year. But if it’s going to happen, it should happen here; Washington has surrendered the league’s ninth-most yards per pass attempt (7.0) and second-most passing TDs (12) despite facing Justin Fields, Ryan Tannehill, Cooper Rush, and Jared Goff in four of its last five games. Based largely on matchup, I am taking the optimistic side on Rodgers’ box-score projection and teeing him up as a top-12 QB1 here. … In DFS tournaments, Aaron Jones is stackable with Rodgers against a Commanders team coughing up a cool 4.5 yards per carry and six all-purpose touchdowns in six games to opposing running backs. After last week’s embarrassing blowout home loss to the Jets, Packers HC Matt LaFleur conceded Jones’ 12 touches were “not good enough”. Perhaps too naively, I’m expecting LaFleur and Rodgers to force the ball to Jones at Washington, quite probably at A.J. Dillon’s expense.
