Carolina @ L.A. Rams
Team Totals: Rams 25.5, Panthers 15.5
Panthers-Rams profiles as a fantasy-unfriendly affair we should avoid wherever possible in season-long and DFS-lineup decisions. … Turning to defensive-minded Steve Wilks at head coach in the post-Matt Rhule era and P.J. Walker under center in Baker Mayfield’s (ankle) absence, Carolina’s offense is an easy attack target for the Rams’ D/ST. In 10 career NFL appearances (two starts), Walker is a pathetic 73-of-128 passing (57%) for 790 yards (6.2 YPA) and a 2:8 TD-to-INT ratio with 13 sacks taken and four fumbles. … Walker did go 10-of-10 passing when targeting Christian McCaffrey in 2021, while CMC has proven throughout his career that he is both quarterback- and opponent-proof. … Mayfield was unable to consistently push the ball to D.J. Moore and Robbie Anderson in the first five weeks, and nothing about Walker’s NFL résumé suggests that will change. If I’m carrying Moore in season-long leagues, I’m praying the Panthers trade him to a competent team. Anderson is probably a lost cause at this point.
