The Browns desperately needed WR help entering the NFL Draft and got it via KC Concepcion, who they made the No. 24 overall pick in the draft on Thursday evening. Concepcion won the Paul Hornung Award for the most versatile player in college football in 2025 and should push for top WR duties for the Browns right away. Let’s dig into this pick for fantasy purposes.

KC CONCEPCION

  • Concepcion was a major factor immediately at North Carolina State, reeling in 71 catches for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns as a true freshman to register an analytical breakout (a Dominator Rating over 30%). He also had 41 carries for 320 yards as a freshman. His production dipped slightly as a sophomore before surging back as a junior following a transfer to Texas A&M, where he immediately emerged as the WR1 for the playoff-bound Aggies. Concepcion was also used in a variety of roles throughout his time in college, going from a primary slot man at N.C. State to mostly playing on the outside at Texas A&M, and he succeeded in both roles. Draft pundits like his explosiveness and after-the-catch ability, but note he had major drop issues in college, and he is undersized at 5-foot-11, 196 pounds.
  • The good news: Concepcion can challenge for WR1 duties in Cleveland right now. Jerry Jeudy came back down to Earth after a euphoric Jameis Winston-led 2024 season, posting just 602 yards in 17 games and earning only a 19% target share despite a barren WR depth chart. The Browns’ next WR after Jeudy is Cedric Tillman. While Harold Fannin Jr. is the top pass catcher in this offense after posting a 25.6% target share over his final four games, the WR position for the Browns is sorely lacking, and Concepcion may be the best man in the room immediately. He should get tons of looks, and Todd Monken can get creative with him as well (Zay Flowers had 10 carries last year in Baltimore under Monken).
  • The bad news: Deshaun Watson took the first reps at voluntary vet workouts for the Browns. Shedeur Sanders threw seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions as a rookie. The Cleveland offense is one of the worst in football on paper, and efficiency might be a struggle for Concepcion as a rookie. In short, the target volume should be there for the rookie; the efficiency may not be.

OTHER BROWNS PASS CATCHERS

  • As mentioned above, Jeudy struggled to 602 yards on 5.7 yards per target in 2025. Concepcion will push for the WR1 role right away. Of course, nobody expected the Browns to enter the season with Jeudy as their WR1, so this shouldn’t have a devastating impact on his ADP, but the Concepcion selection cements a cap on Jeudy’s ceiling.
  • Fannin had a 20.1% seasonal target share, including 25.6% over the last month of the season. He was one of the lone bright spots in the Browns’ offense last year and enters 2026 as their top pass catcher. Concepcion should slot in behind him, and from a projections standpoint, it was widely assumed that the Browns would add a WR of consequence in the draft, so this should have been baked into Fannin’s ADP already.
