Every game has some injuries to watch today with some key players listed as questionable, and we just got a huge update on Damian Lillard. Most of the big Qs are early, so we should be pretty set once it’s time to lock lineups.
Top Questionable Tag
Trae Young is questionable with a calf contusion. He did close on Wednesday, and he may have just taken some contact because it was called a contusion. Young did have right calf soreness back on Jan. 1, but he was fine (and it was a B2B). If he doesn’t play here, that should put Rajon Rondo in the starting lineup after he saw 30 minutes in his start a couple weeks ago. Brandon Goodwin has lost some ground lately, so he wouldn’t be a great play. Kevin Huerter would handle the ball a ton.
Top Out Tag
Damian Lillard (abdomen) is now out and the Blazers should be in deep trouble. Anfernee Simons will likely start, but he just aggravated his hammy and he would almost certainly have a cap on him (he’s not on the injury report). Rodney Hood does have some ball-handling experience from his Utah days, so he’d be running the offense more and get some PNR possessions with Enes Kanter like he did with Rudy Gobert. Gary Trent Jr. will likely have to play close to 40 with more offensive responsibility while C.J. Elleby will be out there.
