Six back-to-back teams today and we got some big updates from the Rockets to start off the slate. Check out Matchups for some more detail, but let’s address what we just learned.
Monday News Update
The Rockets will not have John Wall (rest) and Eric Gordon (rest) in a back-to-back set here. Victor Oladipo has 48 minutes without Gordon and Wall with a per-36 line of 25/4/5, so he gets a big role here in a tough matchup against the Hornets. The Rockets should look to Danuel House and David Nwaba even more here while Ben McLemore could get in the rotation. Jae’Sean Tate should see plenty of minutes at the three, four and five today, and of course there’s a big spot for DeMarcus Cousins in a plus matchup against Cody Zeller.
Top Questionable Tags
Anthony Davis is “very likely” to miss today’s game with tightness in his right leg, but test results did come back clean. With him out, Kyle Kuzma and Talen Horton-Tucker should pick up more playing time while Markieff Morris gets back in the rotation. Plus, LeBron James, Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell should see more shots.
Jamal Murray (knee) is questionable today after missing Saturday’s game against the Kings. Not much going on updates-wise, so he might be a game-time call. If he can’t go, Monte Morris will get mid-30s minutes as the PG while Will Barton and Michael Porter Jr. should see more time. Although, MPJ’s defensive issues could keep him on a short leash.
