Well, it’s Deadline Day eve. I mentioned a bunch of guys in the rumors in NBA Matchups, so check that out.
1:30 Injury Report Updates
We got a massive piece of news with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander getting ruled out. That means we’re almost certainly looking at a starting lineup of Theo Maledon, Luguentz Dort, Aleksej Pokusevski and Al Horford. Although, don’t let that starting lineup fool you. I’m expecting Lu Dort to functionally serve as the PG. He had 22 drives in his last game and I’m expecting a ton today in an uptempo game. Give me all the Dort, and I like Poku, too.
Blake Griffin did get ruled out today for the B2B. That means we’ve got around 20 frontcourt minutes to mess with, and of course James Harden is questionable again for the last tip of the day. Harden said he was struggling through the injury and wasn’t himself, but this man hates missing games more than the guys from Office Space hate copiers. If it’s just Blake out, I’d expect Alize Johnson to pick up most of those Blake minutes while it’ll give more upside to Jeff Green, Nicolas Claxton, and DeAndre Jordan. If Harden doesn’t go, Tyler Johnson is basically a must-play option while Bruce Brown, Chris Chiozza, Joe Harris and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot also should step up.
